Whats New in Finderlock
Stay up to date with the latest features, improvements, and bug fixes. We're constantly working to make Finderlock better and more secure for our users.
Smoother locking flow for large folders, smarter authentication prompts, and several quality-of-life improvements based on user feedback.
What's Changed:
- Locking large folders now feels instant — the file becomes locked right away while encryption runs in the background
- Files protected with Touch ID always unlock with Touch ID, even if Touch ID is disabled in Preferences
- Prevented an issue where the same file could be added twice with different protection methods
- Encrypting indicator now correctly shows 'Encrypting…' or 'Decrypting…' depending on the operation
- New native lock icon on protected files for a cleaner, more macOS-style look
- Added Preferences toggles to hide 'Secure Shred' and 'Open Finderlock' from the Finder right-click menu
- Fixed a rare issue where the dashboard showed a white area when resizing the window
- Hid the free plan upgrade hint for paid customers
- Improved crash recovery — files in transit during a crash are now safely restored on next launch
- Many other small polish fixes and reliability improvements
